Patricia Berger's Favorite Smoothie Recipe

The Perfect Breakfast

I like to start my mornings with something healthy that also gives me an energy boost. My favorites: smoothies. They are quick to prepare, refreshing, and filling. Additionally, they contain lots of vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants.

Here's my favorite recipe for a green smoothie:
Quantity: One large glass; about 300 ml
Preparation: about 10 minutes

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/4 avocado, peeled, pitted
  • 1 handful of spinach
  • 1/2 apple, preferably unpeeled
  • 20 ml orange juice
  • 1/8 piece of lemon, preferably with peel, if it's organic
  • 1 small piece of ginger
  • 100 ml water
  • Optional: 5g (1 scoop) rose hip powder

Preparation:
  • Cut the ingredients and peel if necessary
  • In a blender, mix avocado and banana for about 1 minute
  • Add the remaining ingredients and blend until the smoothie has a creamy consistency without lumps

My secret ingredient is the rose hip powder from Fairvital. It is easy to dose with the measuring scoop. Rose hips are a good source of nutrients because they are full of plant active ingredients. They are rich in vitamins A, C, E, and K. They also contain some minerals: calcium, manganese, magnesium, copper, and phosphorus.
Rose hips also contain numerous secondary plant substances, flavonoids, and natural antioxidants. This is how I enhance my smoothie with local fruits. On warm days, I also enjoy the smoothie with ice cubes.
