Iodine 150µg - 180 tablets
Iodine: supports the thyroid
Iodine is an essential trace element, which has to be taken in through food on a regular basis. Algae, salt-water fish, fish products and seafood are good sources of iodine.Iodine is mostly needed by the thyroid, because it is only able to form thyroid hormones with iodine. Both thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4 or tetra-iodothyronine) and triiodothyronine (T3) contain 4 or 3 iodine atoms per molecule. Both are responsible for the basal metabolic rate of the body.
Iodine for the skin
Unfortunately, only few people know that iodine is essential for the function of the skin. If there is an iodine deficiency, it can lead to dry, flaky skin, so if you have skin problems, you should always have your iodine level checked by your doctor.Furthermore, iodine is indispensable for cognitive functions. These include memory, perception, learning and thinking. The nervous system also benefits from a sufficient supply of the trace element.
