Chitosan 500mg - 120 tablets
What is chitosan?
Chitosan is a cellulose-like polymer obtained from chitin. It is a polysaccharide found, for example, in fungi, arthropods and molluscs. In addition, chitosan is an indigestible dietary fibre that passes through the intestine practically unchanged.
Dietary fibre increases the volume of the food, which can lead to faster saturation in the stomach and stimulates intestinal movements so that the length of stay is shortened.
Chitosan and cholesterol
A daily intake of 3g chitosan is able to contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. The reason for this is the binding of cholesterol from food in the intestines, which is excreted afterwards. As a fibre, chitosan is also able to contribute to a normal cholesterol level.
