L-ornithine & L-arginine 350mg/350mg - 90 tablets

Amino acids for the musculature and circulation

L-arginine and L-ornithine are closely related amino acids. L-arginine is the precursor of L-ornithine. The amino acid L-arginine and the associated amino acid L-ornithine work hand in hand in the organism: Together they regulate the release of hormones and the creatine synthesis, but they are also an important component of the immune system and important for wound healing.

Function of L-ornithine in the body

L-ornithine is an alkaline amino acid, which is formed in the urea cycle during the separation of urea from L-arginine. In the urea cycle, L-ornithine is a carrier molecule for carbon dioxide and ammonium molecules.
In the liver metabolism, the amino acid plays an important role in the detoxification of the body. Ornithine is also crucially involved in anabolic processes of the musculature as well as the reduction of fat. That is why it is especially popular with athletes who wish to build up mass and reduce the body fat content.

Plant-based foods only contain traces of ornithine, which is why vegans and vegetarians should pay attention to a sufficient supply.

L-arginine for the muscle building, regeneration and fat reduction

L-arginine is an amino acid, which is responsible for the protein formation. The main task of the nitrogenous arginine is the vascular dilation and promoting the circulation, which is linked to an improved performance during physical activity. When the blood is able to transport a higher amount of nutrients, it results in a better supply of the muscles or the cells and to an improved muscle building, regeneration and fat reduction.
Furthermore, the vascular dilation leads to an improved pump effect, which is very popular among strength athletes.

In the context of the urea cycle, arginine is responsible for the removal of the cytotoxin ammonia from urea, which protects the liver and kidney function.

L-arginine can primarily be found in protein-rich foods, including meat, fish, nuts, wheat germs and soybeans.
